FAQ
When should I book?
I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant,
ideally in your second or early third trimester. We’ll pencil in your due date and adjust if baby arrives early or late.
Can we have our session in our own home?
Yes, absolutely! I bring along a selection of wraps and little essentials for your baby, so you don’t need to worry about a thing. Sessions generally run for around 1.5 to 2 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, cuddles, and keeping everything relaxed.
There is a $50 travel fee, which covers metro Adelaide. I love working with the natural light in your home - it creates soft, authentic images that beautifully reflect your family’s story in a comfortable and familiar setting.
When will we get our photos?
The turnaround time for newborn photos is usually around three weeks. Within one week after your session, your gallery will be ready to view. From there, you’ll select your favourite images, and I’ll complete any final retouching to ensure they’re perfect.
Your finished photos will be delivered via digital download for easy access and sharing. If you’ve ordered albums or wall art, please allow a little extra time, as these handcrafted pieces take longer to produce and deliver.
How old should my baby be?
The ideal age is 6–14 days old, but if for some reason that isn't possible, beautiful images can be captured beyond that too.
How long does the session take?
Usually 1.5 –3 hours, allowing time for feeds, settling, and snuggles.
And snack time for toddlers (or hungry parents!)
What should we wear?
I recommend choosing neutral tones, avoiding stripes, bold patterns, or logos, as these can be distracting in photos. Coordinating your family’s outfits with complimentary colours works beautifully and keeps the focus on your connection.
For inspiration, you’re welcome to browse my website and Instagram page to see what other families have worn during their sessions.
How do we prepare our baby for the session?
It's a good idea to give your baby a bath in the morning, and bring them to the session in a onsie that easily opens at the front, and with no singlet underneath. Don't worry if your baby has dry flakey skin, I can edit that out if you want me to.
What should we bring?
Bring along the usual things you’d take for an outing with your baby-enough formula (if you’re not breastfeeding), nappies, wipes, and a dummy if your little one uses one. It’s also a good idea to pack a few snacks for yourself, and even a hairbrush for a quick touch-up if needed.
Do you offer a framing service or albums?
Newborn photographs are so much more than simple snapshots, they are the beginning of your family’s story, told through meaningful, heartfelt imagery. These portraits capture the love, connection, and wonder of this precious time, creating lasting memories that you’ll cherish for years to come.
I offer a range of heirloom-quality products. From timeless frames that turn your baby’s first portraits into artwork for your walls, to handcrafted albums that you can flip through with your child as they grow, every piece is designed to be treasured. For families who love a more versatile option, I also provide personalized print boxes -beautifully curated keepsakes that hold your favorite images, ready to enjoy or gift to loved ones.
